VANS WARPED TOUR (EN)

Hi, since some of the festivals are held in the US or in the UK, I thought it would be fine to translate those posts into english.

It's a festival of music and extreme sports. Its real name is Warped Tour, but the skateboarding shoes brand called Vans has sponsored it since 1995, so it is known now as Vans Warped Tour.

Along this past years, more than 100 bands per festival and between 10 000 and 30 000 people took part of this event. Guest bands usually play in 10 different stages for 30 min, while the most important ones do it in the principal stages. In addition, the most voted band by the public has the right to play 10 min more.

Usually, the day at the festival would be since 11:00 a.m until 19:00 p.m.

It was born as a skate-punk, hip-hop and ska festival, but nowadays, it also includes genres as punk, rock, pop, hardcore and alternative.

In 1998, the tour became international, including for the first time locations in Australia, Japan, Europe and Canada. Although the last one held in Europe was in 2013.

As well as music, this tour offers lots of attractions, like a half pipe for skaters and cyclists.

The tour also includes the creation of tents for each band where it is sold merchandise, etc. A lot of the bands go to their tents right after their performance to meet their fans and sign autographs.

Furthermore, this tour became more ecological by reducing their expense in fuel and using solar energy.

The most outstanding bands this year are: All Time Low, AS IT IS, Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Bowling For Soup, Don Broco, Everytime I Die, Falling In Reverse, Knuckle Puck, Less Than Jake, Makeout, Mayday Parade, Pennywise, Real Friends, Reel Big Fish, Simple Plan, State Champs, Story Of The Year, Story Untold, Sum-41, Taking Back Sunday, Tonight Alive, Underoath, The Used, Waterparks, We The Kings, With Confidence.

With this statement Lyman announced that this would be the last full cross country run of the tour, which is so sad for all the fans.

Tickets cost around 45$.

One day Rob Pasalic described this tour as a place for teenage kids to go and hear all their favourite bands in one day, and I think that this is what got the Warped Tour so far.
